Paving thickness can vary based on the specific use of the pavement. Generally, residential driveways are around 2-3 inches thick, while commercial pavements might be thicker. Our experts will assess your specific needs and provide recommendations accordingly.

Blalock Paving replaced my driveway, which had become severely damaged by tree roots, as well as my porch pad, which did not drain well because it was lower than the porch’s brick facing by about one-quarter inch. It also, in part, the porch drained towards the house.I hired Blalock primarily because they repaved the driveway of a neighbor several years ago and it still looks great. Their estimator emphasized the importance of a driveway with a four-inch gravel base and four inches of concrete. They also use fiber reenforced concrete. I did my own research on-line and affirmed that this is the way to go for a long-lasting driveway. Our original driveway did not have a gravel base. I like to watch construction and learn by seeing skilled workers do their jobs well. I observed that I got what they promised, a four-inch gravel base (compacted with a roller where possible and otherwise with a smaller plate compactor) and four-inches of concrete. The new porch pad is level with the brick facing and pitched to drain away from the house. Our garage is a few inches lower than the street so much of the driveway drains toward the house. Blalock uninstalled and reinstalled the drain channel imbedded in the concrete near the garage and reconnected it to its drainage pipe. Our house is on a cul-de-sac, which means the old driveway had a curve at the street end where it connected to the curb apron. Blalock used a flexible form to create a continuous shallow curve from the garage to the curb apron. It gives me the impression the sweeping driveways one sometimes sees at homes far more expensive than mine. It looks classy to me. The concrete was dressed with a slight texture so it is not slippery when wet. Once the forms were removed, Blalock brought in good soil to fill in the holes that had been occupied by the forms. With good weather, the whole process took three days. The concrete was poured on the second day. The forms and soil were added on the third day. Clean-up was thorough. The crew did a great job. When I had questions, they were answered. The crew chief and the crew members were friendly. I am pleased that I hired Blalock.

Great experience from start to finish. Showed up exactly when they promised to prepare estimate and on the day they promised to actually perform the work. They worked with me to change the scope of work after they were underway. They did a great job at a fair price and their crews were very friendly and professional. Based on my experience they have my unqualified recommendation.

I had contacted Kevin Smith, their senior estimator for suggestions for the driveway, either replace or repair. He was informative and prompt and concise, saying what they could and couldn’t do. A few options were given electronically right away, they were fortunately stored, because it took a couple of months for me to make up my mind. When I did and chose the repair option, the choice was right there. We agreed to a date approximately two weeks in the future, well within my expectations. The job is superb, on budget and I would highly recommend their work to anyone in their future.

We had Blalock remove our old driveway and put in a new one. They showed up on time and completed the work in a professional manner. When we had questions, Lorenzo our crew leader made sure they were answered. They completed the job on time. I recommend Blalock and would use them again.

Our community had a great experience with Blalock. They came out right away, post request-for-quote, to discuss with us, in person, what we were looking for and did exact measurements and supplied different quotes for different work grouping for our HOA Board to consider. The final product was spot-on cost to the initial quote we received. The final product: (72 lined & numbered parking spaces, 72 spaces sealed, walkway safety hashing, additional asphalt repairs, etc.) LOOKS INCREDIBLE! Friendly crews on site too! Hard workers, they work from sun-up to sun-down (even as the Fall days get shorter)! A+ work!

I sent requests for estimates to five different concrete repair companies, and Blalock Paving was one of two companies to send me a response. The estimate that Blalock Paving provided to repair my driveway was about 20% less than the other quote, and I am very satisfied with the quality of work that I received. At the time I accepted the estimate I was advised that it would be approximately 8 weeks before work on my project could begin, but Blalock Paving was able to complete the work within 6 weeks. If I need driveway repair in the future, I will be contacting this company.

Blalock Paving recently installed our concrete driveway, which is a rather long driveway that also required blending with some existing concrete areas. We could not be any happier! We initially got 2 more estimates from other companies, but chose Blalock mainly because of their professionalism and timely responses. They were very careful to listen to our needs for our new driveway and offered suggestions that ended up making it even better than we were anticipating. We highly recommend them!
